The Beginning
ianne Manias, Neil’s wife and business partner was the sole office staff. Darryl Manias, Neil and Dianne’s oldest son, was their first employee for delivery and service support.
Dine Company started as a single product line distributor for Henny Penny in a 2300 sq. ft rental space in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. We distributed products and parts as well as serviced Henny Penny equipment. The first years offered many difficulties, but we found our niche in the market specializing in fried chicken programs.
Over the years as the distributor model changed, Dine Company adapted and grew. In 1985, we purchased land and built a 4000 square foot building. This expansion led to an increase in staff and product lines as well as moving into a broader scope of industries. When we were founded we mainly served the restaurant industry and c-stores. In 1985, Richard Manias, Neil and Dianne’s middle son, came on board in sales and an assistant was hired to serve as office support alongside Dianne. The facility expanded twice, with its final square footage being 10,400. This was our location for the next 14 years.
Expansion
In the early 1990s, we started to design and installation services for full restaurant packages. In 1999, we moved into our current location at 3110 Preston Highway in Louisville, KY. As the business expanded, we ventured into retail sales for the restaurant industry. In 2004, we expanded our current store to 30,000 square feet. This allowed us to better serve customers by offering new and used equipment and supplies.
We continue to operate as a family business. We are now a partnership owned and operated by Darryl and Richard Manias. Evan Manias, Darryl’s middle son, is continuing the family business tradition and works at Dine Company as the store manager.
Over the years many things have changed. We have changed locations and our staff has continued to grow; however, our vision remains the same. We strive to build relationships and provide the best Customer Care for Restaurant & Foodservice customers by sourcing products and solutions which make foodservice easier and more profitable for our customers.
